Hydrogels are the cross-linked polymeric materials consisting of hydrophilic polymer chains which connected through physical or chemical interactions to form a network structure. Due to the hydrophilic property and network structure, the materials can create a water-contained and moist environment which allows them to play significant roles in various fields, including medical, cosmetic, and agriculture…etc. Particularly, in biomedical field, the hydrogels have been widely developed into a variety of biomedical applications due to their moist property that provides a suitable environment for cell differentiation and proliferation during tissue repair in human body.
Different from traditional hydrogels, intelligent hydrogels can change their original structure in response to external physical or chemical stimulation, such as thermo-sensitive, pH-sensitive and electro-sensitive…etc. Therefore, intelligent hydrogels are of particular interest. MBD Biotech aims to meet the clinical unmet needs in many applications, such as tissue regeneration, artificial tissue, wound dressing, wound closure system, anti-adhesion and drug delivery system. Through our polymer modification technique, we synthesize novel polymer materials which possess safety and biocompatibility. Furthermore, through the combination of our technique and intelligent hydrogels, we are capable of developing many types of biomedical products by regulating the viscosity, adhesive strength, mechanical property, biodegradability and gelation temperature.
